Seaflow: Island water therapy
Watsu therapy is a form of aquatic bodywork and massage performed in warm water, typically in a pool or the sea. We are introducing this treatment at Seastar House for our guests to enjoy at the local beach or in the privacy of our pool.
Seaflow therapy provides deep relaxation, releases muscle tension, improves flexibility and range of motion, and promotes a profound sense of tranquility. The warm water allows muscles to release tension far more easily than treatments on a massage table, as the therapeutic heat and buoyancy work together to soften resistance and encourage natural movement.
During this treatment, the practitioner gently moves, stretches, and massages your body through flowing movements and positions in the water, taking full advantage of the warm therapeutic effects and natural buoyancy. The experience unfolds like an underwater dance, where each movement flows seamlessly into the next, creating a continuous rhythm that mirrors the ocean's own eternal patterns.
This unique treatment is considered a passive form of aquatic therapy, as you remain completely relaxed throughout whilst the practitioner guides all movements. There's no effort required on your part - simply surrender to the experience and allow the combination of skilled touch, warm water, and oceanic rhythm to work its magic. The weightless environment allows for movements and stretches that would be impossible on land, opening up new dimensions of healing and release.
